The icy winter wind says all the things we left unsaid.
I see your bags all packed, waiting by the door,
And when I look into your eyes I see the tears we shared before.
6 am and I can't say goodbye.
I'll never understand, all the reasons why.
Please don't say you won't forget me.
Cause we both know how that will end.
I can't see your face or hear your voice,
Knowing we were more than friends
There's nothing we can do now, we both realise.
The grey sky through the window, is mirrored in our eyes.
I know the taxi's waiting, I see the headlights glow.
And I'm sure I had some words to say,
But I just watch you go
6 am and I can't say goodbye.
I'll never understand, all the reasons why.
Please don't say you won't forget me.
Cause we both know how that will end.
I can't see your face or hear your voice,
Knowing we were more than friends.

Lyrics:
Early morning rain is falling as we lie awake in bed.The icy winter wind says all the things we left unsaid.
Technical Notes:
A song about the one who got away (we’ve all been there...). The lineup on this song was a kind of reunion of a band called Fool's Kingdom from the early 1980s, but the four of us were never in the studio at the same time for this recording. Like Midnight Thoughts, this was written in high-school and recorded in the 16 track studio at a radio station with all the same equipment described there and again Sallie was at the helm at the board. We de-naffed and re-sang the vocals as before, and Les redid his guitar parts as the originals were too noisy, once again using a Strat and the Line 6 Stompbox for amplifier simulations.
