Lyrics:
I continue to feel that I'm mixed up.
I continue to plan for the best.
I continue to dream.
I continue to fight.
I continue to pray for a rest.

One day when my time becomes free
I will stay home with you for a change.
Then all things converge!
All things collide!
What's real when when everything feels strange?

I'm not really sure,
I know just what it is.
Keeps me coming back for more.
It's something I can't miss.

I'll continue to feel that I'm mixed up.
I'll continue to find things to do.
I'll continue to dream.
I'll continue to fight.
I'll continue to forget the miles I am from you.
Technical Notes:
This song was written sometime in the early 80s and a 4-track demo was made at that time. It was re-recorded around 1998 using one of the early versions of the Cakewalk DAW on a Windoze computer using a sound card for the audio. The drums were played on an electronic kit built out of wood, glue, and rubber using cheap piezo pickups designed for acoustic guitars along with an Alesis D4 drum module. While we used the original MIDI of the drums the samples were replaced using EZ-Drummer. There is little dynamic range to the drumming due to the primitive setup so it sounds like it was programmed, but it's the real thing. The bass was originally an electric guitar through a Boss Octave pedal but was replaced with a Fender Jazz bass for this version. The lead guitar part was also redone using a Strat and various pedals DIed through the Line-6 Stompbox amplifier simulator. The keyboards were played on some sort of Casio device, but the sound was replaced using the standard B3 sample in Studio Logic. Since the lyrics were originally written by 20-something year olds who weren't getting any, we rewrote them to make them a little less naff and resang them using an AKG-C414 microphone.
